 | THANKS FOR THE MAMMARIES Some say the initially tumultuous bra-market peaked (so to speak), with the advent of Wonderbra. At least, women could experience an effortless heft. But not everybody is comfortable parading a ballooning breast in public. While looking into the lastest developments in the market, VERED SIKWANE happened upon one Janet Muller – who is placing fit before fashion. Choosing a bra can prove to be a real mission. It's either really pretty but really uncomfortable, or comfortable but ugly. What can a woman do? Lilac, powder pink, baby pink, rose, chilli red, ruby red, denim blue, blue mist, azure blue, burgundy, coral, periwinkle, café mocha, crystal, red and nude are the new bra colours from Pandora Bra Studios this spring.
Pandora bras are available in over 60 styles in underwire and non-underwire with 14 back sizes (30-58) and 10 cup sizes (A-J). Styles also include criss-cross, halter necks and strapless bras.
Janet Muller of Pandora has been retailing bras and lingerie for 38 years. She says: "The perfect bra is like a pair of shoes. If it doesn't fit right, it won't feel right. No one can walk around with shoes that pinch them." Janet explains that her Studio puts comfort first before any bra can be a fashion statement, and that's why we stock the exclusive range of Wonderwire bras and cushioned shoulder straps for heavy breasts. According to Janet this new range is all about experiencing freedom by wearing a well-fitted bra in a new and sensual style. "A well-fitted bra makes all clothing look smarter," the bra expert states. "A good fashion sense dictates that women should be realistic – don't go backless and strapless if you really need the support of a well-fitted bra," she says. She also stresses that the most expensive fashion item in a woman's wardrobe should be their bra, regardless of the size of the breasts. " If you're small and flat chested a good-quality, well-fitted bra will give you perk and shape. On the other hand, if you are well endowed and your breasts are bulging, a good well-fitting bra will minimise and enhance your figure, leaving you looking voluptuous and up to 5-10kg smaller," she says.
When asked to give tips on how to wear bras this season, she says: "The latest fashion statement seems to be to wear a contrasting colour under a fairly see-through blouse – red under blue or black under red. This new range of colours and styles allows all women to go bra crazy."
No matter what your size, a well-fitting bra will make you look good and feel great wearing tighter fitting clothing this spring! |
